The busy and exciting time of the year for gamers all around the world is finally here with E3 kicking off today with EA Play.

There were some big announcements from Electronic Arts today with highly anticipated titles such as new EA sports games and BioWare’s New IP being announced at the conference in LA.

Star Wars Battlefront II was announced today almost 2 years after the last Battlefront was released. The new game will not feature limiting DLC like the last Battlefront with EA only having microtransactions in the game to help players progress faster.

EA showed off new maps and content for Battlefield 1 including “In The Name of the Tsar” expansion which is scheduled to come out in September. 8 new maps will come out for the game soon with 6 of them being related to In The Name of the Tsar. Night maps will be showing up with 2 French themed night maps being released this month.

BioWare’s new IP, Anthem was announced. Anthem is a science fiction game where a wall keeps the inhabitant’s safe from whatever lies beyond the wall.

Hazelight’s A Way Out was also announced which is an action-packed co-op game following the story of 2 criminals who try to escape the police as well as other criminals.

EA showed off their array of sporting titles such as Madden NFL 18, NBA Live 18 and FIFA 18 with FIFA being available on the Nintendo Switch without Journey Mode.

Out of everything shown, I’m most looking forward to Need for Speed: Payback. Payback is the 23rd instalment in the franchise of NFS games with this title looking very similar to something out of a Fast and Furious film with lots of action, wreckage and police chases.

The trailer has the sentence “We were crew and she left us with nothing”, making it look even more similar to Fast and Furious.

Payback is scheduled for release on November 10, 2017.
